I'm going to the junkyard this weekend. I need a few certain things and might just snag some other goodies.. I just was wondering what year and/or models will fit.
I have a 1989 740 B230F.
I need the following:
1 Wheel (Dented) MOST IMPORTANT MUST HAVE
Both Taillight assemblies. (Sun rotted)
Driver side front blinker. (Broken)
Driver Side Door panel power windows (Beat up BAD)
Headliner (I don't even know if this is something I can pull from a donor car but I'm going to try)

I think that's about it. Does anyone know what model and years i can look at for these pieces?

 

I think all 740 models have the same parts other than color. The 760's have some parts the same like head liner and a few other parts but those head liners usually break when you try to take them out.

Also the 760 wheels are different. Tail lights should work if you get a set.

Front blinkers should be easy as long as you keep the headlight styles the same. Don't get markers for the 4 head lights if you have the 2 big ones.

 

I know the head lights changed over but don't know exact year...89 or 90 maybe...tail lights should work from 83/84 on...headliner too, any 15" Volvo rim or 16" if your is turbo will work if it has the correct offset..

 

I'm guessing the offset of the rim is the bolt on pattern? Is there any specific way to tell which one I have/need or is it just make sure the number of bolts is right? My tires are 185 65R15 88H

Headliners break when you take them out Might just be Elmer's gluing the other one up then.. oh well. I would probably need a truck bed to put it in anyways... I'm going in an intrepid with an empty trunk...

I'm 90% sure I have the 4 head lights so I will make sure that whatever car I take the marker from has the same setup.

I went to FCP and their tail light setup is good for 85-89. Same for the markers. Is it safe to assume those are the years I should look for?

 

All 740 are the same up to and incl. 1989, at least all the parts you are mentioning... Doubt you'll find a headliner worth taking from the junkyard, and the labor is most of the trouble. Any wheel will fit as long as it is 15", older 740 have 14"... 940 wheels will also fit a 740.

 

I got everything I needed. Although I had to go to two junkyards..
The Taillights did not fit though they look the same they mount differently. I got them from a 240.

I also grabbed 2 relay's. One 740 Fuel pump relay (did not fix my fuel pump turning on when key is in on position) and one that looked just like the fuel pump relay except black from a 900. (I'll get the numbers later)

If anyone need's one of the relays let me know.

 

740 tailightts and 240 tail lights are totally different...only 740 to 740....240 to 240 will work and the you have to be careful on what years cause the circuit board on the back is different and usually needs to be swapped if you pulled from an earlier model like say and 84...
