Default Help me own a 240 (please!)

I've been scouring my local Craigslist for a 240 wagon for weeks. Now, after a few disappointing unreturned calls, I've come across a listing on eBay that seems to fit the bill completely. However, the car's mileage is unknown, so what I would like to know is is it worth making a trip across state to look at such a vehicle? BIN price is 2500. The seller also adds "his week the car will get a timing belt, front engine seals, air filter, flame trap, oil change, wiper blades, a used ac compressor and a ac recharge." Any insight is highly appreciated as I'm sure these kinds of threads are annoying, I would just really like to own one of these cars.

It'd help if you included a link to the ad... How are we supposed to evaluate it and advise you if we don't see it.

I looked it up. Not too impressed: dirty, neglected, unloved 240. No wonder it needs all the services it is going to get. Miles are, who knows? Funny how the odometer "just broke", always happens... Run the Autocheck/Carfax to hopefully get an idea of true miles but if it me was I'd pass. You can do better...

Sorry about the link- I've been on a lot of forums that don't condone direct eBay links. http://www.ebay.com/itm/151348560283?redirect=mobile
I'm hoping that link functions. To the guy who looked it up (thanks) I figured as much, but the seller's reputation etc. had me second guessing... Instant gratification is a killer in this market

2500 is a lot, I just found one that needed work. The radiator has split leaking coolant and oil in the radiator and tranny.. needed some work and also some back DMV fees. paid $150 cash for it... try to find one owned by an older couple who don't want to maintain it anymore and have fallen behind a little you should be able to get one for under 1K
good luck
