Default How to replace ignition lock

Hey folks. I bought a 1990 Volvo 240 that's a bit rough but the price was right--$20! That's right, twenty bucks. No rust, body in good shape, engine runs fine.

Main issue is that it didn't come with a key so I just bought a replacement ignition lock as well as door/trunk/glove box locks with a new set of keys.

Quick question: do I need to remove the steering wheel in order to replace the ignition lock? It looks like a one piece unit so I'm not sure how to install it if it otherwise.

Thanks,

Mike

Instead of spending hours replacing all those locks - Just order a new key from Volvo using the VIN, Volvo has a record of what the key code is.

Well, if just has no key, has is it being driven?
Most likely the ignition is destroyed so just a key wouldn't help...
More info from the poster would help.
