kick down cable

Default kick down cable

I think my kick down cable has come lose but don’t know where to find it or how to reattach ….when I floor the accreditation pedal the ‘93 240 station wagon doesn’t drop down a gear….it just slowly starts to go faster ….any thoughts or help?

Have you checked the tranny fluid level? What is the condition of the tranny fluid -- dirty, discolored. When was the tranny fluid last changed?

trans fluid changed about 90 days ago...level just where it should be...

The throttle pulley has the throttle cable on top and the kickdown cable on the bottom. With the engine off, have an assistant press the throttle pedal to full-throttle while you check the throttle pulley. The throttle pulley should turn clockwise and pull the kickdown cable about 2".
