Default Quirky stall problem with 240DL wagon

Car starts runs great, but after a cold start, about one out of 20 times it will stall during the first few minutes of driving. After stalling, it always starts up right away, and at that point it runs just fine.

For example pulling out of a parking lot in the morning it will start right up, pull out of the space OK, then stall when I give it a little gas pulling into traffic. It's a complete clean shutoff, just like turning off the ignition.

I'm going to try replacing the cap, wires, since they're so old anyway, but this feels like something else.

The car had a bad computer some years ago that prevented the injectors from turning on during start, and I fixed that problem by replacing the puter with a used one that I got on line.

Other than this little glitch, this 100K+ buggy has been solid.

I stall in a similar way...after an hour of driving it dies in a second....just decides to sleep and screw the dam driver!!!!!!!! I was told that my ignition coil is bad and will replace it tomorrow. If your plugs are ancient, the coil is just 24 bucks new. Do a complete tune up

plugs
wires
rotor and cap
maybe a fuel injector cleaner with a full tank.
fuel filter would be good.

Something I read about in several threads here is that there is a valve or flap in the housing for the AMM (air mass meter) that tends to get stuck or bind up and could cause a stall issue. I am no expert as this is my first Volvo but that seems like something to check I would also check the air filter while your in there
