On my '92 240 auto the reversing light has stopped. It was intermittant for a while working if the shifter was held a bit back and to the right. when I take the cover off the base of the shifter , what am I looking at next to fix it? Any ideas anyone?[sm=smiley25.gif]

 

The start inhibitor/back-up light switch is right under the cover, with the wires attached. Try loosening and sliding it forward about 1mm to see if that helps contact. If not, remove and replace ,or try accesing and bend the contacts. IF you remove, note location so it can be put pack in the same way, and only start in N and P.

 

Look at it good I have seen them burned bad.
