Default Should I swap my B230f to b23ft?

So I'm in the process of rebuilding or swapping my 84 240 gl with the 2.3 b230f non turbo, the rear main seal failed, badly and caused a rod, motor only has 144k, a buddy of mine has a 1983 245 with a b23ft turbo it has been sitting for some years, but motor spins. Basically what I'm asking is should I go through with the swap? The b23ft has 183k on it, I'm not familiar with the turbos on these cars so I want to know the, downside if there's any. I also see people swapping the kjet and I've heard some negative thoughts on it why? Anything wrong with kjet?
Thanks.

The CIS fuel injection system works great and should be a fairly direct swap - since your 1984 240 body was built with the ft engine - but if the fuel system sits too long without fuel stabilizers - fuel distributors, and control pressure regulators and injectors will be gummed up and no longer working properly. I would get the engine to run in the car it's in right now - before swapping into your car and finding out it costs too much to make it run.

Is your buddy's car original? If so. why not just buy and restore it? The '81 thru '83 were great years.

well the car he just gave to me, but its missing a title and needs more work than worth doing, it also has a thrown rod, i either want to rebuild the motor then swap it into my 84 sedan or if possible swap the turbo onto the b230f in my sedan, which my question is, can i swap the turbo onto my b230? will the b21ft intake manifold and exhaust bolt up? the b21 is kjet where as my b230 is electronic fuel injected is it possible to just put the turbo on it?
