Default Steering Rack Rebuild vs Re-manufactured

Hello fellow Volvo people. Been a long time lurker. I have an 86 240 with a ZF steering rack that has developed a small leak.

I was wondering what peoples experience was with aftermarket steering racks vs getting the original rebuilt?

Any Companies better than others? I have read good things about Jorgen out in Michigan. Just hoping to get other peoples experiences.

I want to keep this car for a long time so I would like to not be changing the rack out every couple years hopefully. There are not any cars in the junkyards near me. Also, I do not think I have the technical ability to try to reseal the rack myself using those kits.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

Reliable rebuilt is your best bet. Jorgen is OK. Others are cheaper; rebuilds can be hit and miss but what are you gonna do? I like used parts but racks usually have 200+ miles, they will go soon...

I would like to get the rack rebuilt. Honestly it is a very small leak like a couple of drops a day i kind of want to leave it but i need new rods and an alignment so was thinking of doing it all together.

Where else could i get my rack rebuilt?
