RE: transmission takes long to shift
How long is it since the transmission fluid was changed? It should be changed every 20,000 miles.

RE: transmission takes long to shift
I had an north american car that shifted at a higher speed than normal. Found a crack in one of the vacuum hoses and that fixed it.

SPANK- my 240 had a "hung up" shift down cable, and took a long time to shift out of low. check that, maybe lubricate too. Dave

RE: transmission takes long to shift
spank- theres a large cylinder on the top that the throttle cable goes around. The shift down cable attaches to that cylinder andruns down to the tranny. Mine didnt need lubrication, it just got itself hooked on a clip or something.
