Default volvo searching with lots of ideas

Ok so first off, i am looking at getting an 87 wagon. I have been doing lots of resesrch and came across a guy that did an engine swap with i believe a ls7. Are these difficult? What all needs to be altered, and is there any way i can find so e kind of manual showing where engine mou ts are located and stuff like that. Thanks.

Turbobricks would be a better forum to address your question; there are likely tens if not hundreds of swap builds there.

TurboBricks | High Performance Volvo Club

It's inversely as difficult to do as you are skilled at auto mechanics and fabrication; It is also directly proportional to how economically viable as you are.

ANY engine swap is difficult, expensive (more expensive than you expect), and requires advanced mechanical knowledge. What's an "ls7"?

if you have to ask where the engine mounts are, you are NOT prepared to do an engine swap.

Anyway, here is a company that produces a manual for this swap:

JTR Volvo 200 Series V-8 Conversion

They also sell the motor mount:

V8 Conversions, Volvo 200 Series V-8 Motor Mount, Stealth Conversions

I can see the charm in the idea, and have thought of doing a 5.0 swap before, but it's a ton of work and realistically -if your not super proficient or know someone who is, likely will end up a disaster.
