Default Water Pump Fan Nut

Well after I finally got everything put back together I thought I could put my top timing belt cover back on last. Well I learned the hard way that ya can't. So we went to take everything apart and started taking the nuts off the fan and when I got the the last one I must have grabbed the one I was replacing that was stripped and now I can't get it off. I have tried locking pliers and even tried my best to grind it off with a small dremel bit that barely fit in there but have had no luck. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get that nut off without having to take the water pump off.

Here is a picture of the nut in question.

Try a hack saw blade by hand.

I would just soak the entire thing down with PB Blaster. Even when the nut is jammed, that stud should come on out of the water pump. If you have a propane torch, you can use it judiciously to "cook" the PB in a bit deeper. If you have to, I'd use a cut off wheel on the Dremel and cut in line w/ the stud, removing one flat of the nut. Then, a couple of raps w/ a cold chisel or healthy screwdriver will bust the nut. Try to save the stud as removing only a nub from the water pump is a chore!

Take the disc guard off an angle grinder and you'll get in there, no problems. Then just replace it with a stud or short bolt.

Regards, Andrew.

Well after trying alot of different things a little heat from a propane torch and a smaller pair of locking pliers finally got the stud to come loose from the water pump.

I replaced all the studs and nuts after all that so I won't have that happen again.

Everything is running smoothly but now I have a small radiator leak from when I had to get a small screwdriver that fell between the radiator and condenser. All I did was take the top radiator mounts off so I could get my hand between them but I guess I pulled something loose from the bottom of the radiator. It's a small leak that only drips a few drops. Do you guys think I should just go get a new radiator at a Pull A Part yard or should I use barsleak to try and see if that seals the leak?
