Default 960 inspection question.

hello, i have a 960 1995 and it runs just fine. yesterday i took it to get an inspection for my inspection sticker. after they finished i drove off and about 30 seconds my engine cuts off. then i put it in park and restarted the engine. it came back on and the engine light now comes on. (this is the first time it has come on while ive had it for 7 months) now i take it back and they say they dont know whats wrong with it. they restarted it by unhooking battery or whatever for about 15 minutes and hooked it back up. now the engine light still comes on and my accelerator feels funny and it started wobblingl my car until i had to stop and change geers. does anyone know what could be the problem? i am really fustrated that this has happened because i have had no problems before and want my car to runs as it was before. if anyone could help me with this thanks.

What kind of "inspection" are we talking about? Where are you?

Anytime some entrepreneur touches your car something may go wrong, then again, it may happen without anyone's fault.

I'd leap and say you have a misfire by the symptoms I am able to discern but this is strictly a guess-- the easiest mishap that could have been caused by someone disconnecting something by accident.

I am in the US TX and it was an inspection to make sure my car functions properly.

i asked the quy who inspected and he said all he did was hook it up to a machine and that was it.

i've asked around but people said they only inspect cars of year 1996 and up, so im not sure how this proccess goes.

I'm with Lev, it sounds like you have a misfire. You should open the hood and check for codes.

There is a box like the one in the video below near the drivers side strut under the hood. I believe you can test it the same way as the one in this video. Get the code and post it here so someone can help you. (And do thank God you passed inspection):

A '95 normally should be an OBD1, so, no machine (outside computer) to hook up to...
May be they measure the exhaust, and that's the "machine"?
Gimme more!

ok i did the code test in port a2 and i got:

233
113
115

and at the end it repeated the 233 code. i never got the 111 code.

and the engine light is still on for now.

1-1-1 indicates no fault codes registered. You'll only get that when you don't have any faults or when you clear the fault codes.

If I remember correctly, the system remembers maximum of 3 or maybe 4 codes. You'll need to fix what's triggering the fault codes before clear the codes. If there's anything else wrong there will be new codes - you might have to drive a little bit before new fault codes show up.

That's strange. When they inspect the car, they do drive it hard.

113- Injectors Group 1 faulty signal
115- Injectors Group 2 faulty signal
233- Long-term idle air trim outside control range

First I would check the fuses. I would also check the grounds. You can see them in the files linked at the sticky at the top.

These codes are pretty generic and fairly meaningless--the OBD1 is quite unreliable. I'd check all connections for injectors, plugs, etc, then disconnect the battery for 20 minutes...
