Hi all
I have a 1995 850 turbo manual.
If I rev to say 3000 rpm then step on the clutch as to shift the rpm stays at 3000 rpm for 2-3 seconds then drops to idle speed,every time.
I have connected a smoke generator to the intake and did not find any significant vacuum/boost leaks.Cable throttle returns quickly and smoothly.
I did just instal this engine from another car.
Otherwise the engine runs great and has good power.
No trouble codes.


Anyone else experience this?

Any suggestions welcome.

smoke machine:a device that produces white smoke,kind of like a disco fog generator on a smaller scale.
connect it to the intake(or any other closed system(gas tank/evap,crankcase)) via a vacuum hose and block off the air intake at MAF sensor
wherever smoke comes out you have a leak that probably needs repairing

 

Good thing I have not put away my Halloween stuff yet.
