Default Camper top on a wagon??

Hey, so i love my 850 wagon and i love going camping in it, but i was thinking it would be awesome if i could install a pop top like is on the VW westfalias so i can sleep up there and have my equipment below. Does anyone see any problems with this? any suggestions? Im assuming this would be somewhat costly so il see what i can do to do most of the work myself. I have seen one other post about this sort of thing, but really no info. Any help would be great!

Thank for looking!

Mike

Thumbs up

Awesome idea. Time to find an camper and start measuring. I have not seen anything like this on a Volvo but with some creativity it could be pretty sweet. I have seen the add on tents that attach to the back of wagons and SUV's but it is not as cool.

I had a similar idea a few months ago with a Subaru 4x4 wagon. I was gonna use an enlarged sunroof opening to gain access to a sleeping area on the roof, with a pop-top like an old Westfalia.

Just a thought. Love to see it done.

Just like every other brilliant idea, somebody already had it. I saw one the other day, and it looked pretty slick. The conversion runs about $4600.
