So, if I shut my driver door when the window is down, it clicks/rattles abnormally loud, something none of the other doors do. If I roll my window up half way up before I close the door, the sound doesn't happen.


I have been told I have some sort of broken window guide or something in the door, but I am not sure exactly what the problem is. If I roll my window up half way up before I close the door, the sound doesn't happen.

Is this a common issue? If so, what is the suspect and the recommended fix?

Not a common problem. You can go into the panel and see if something is loose.

Its the lower rail for the window, if you dont want to replace it just take your door panel off and pull the rail out...

Thanks! Is it the actual window or the rail (or both) rattling? What purpose does this part serve? What should I be careful of if I totally remove it? Is it true that if I continue to close the door with the window down (or with the rail removed), it could break the window?
