Hey everyone, Just bought my daughter a 1997 850L for her graduation present and have a BIG problem ! I entered the wrong codes into the Cd player/stereo system and it shut off. Now when ya turn the power on the screen reads OFF. I pulled both fuses thinking it would reset it, but failed to do so. If anyone knows how to get this thing workin I'd appreciate the help. There is surely a way to reset and maybe even bypass the code entering even though it is an ati cd theft program. Also if anyone knows where I could get an owners manual for it I'd sure appreciate that info also so we will know what ALL the feautures do since it has everything but the kitchen sink. Leave the key in the first position for about 2 to 3 hours and it will reset it.
It should not kill the battery since only the radio and SRS light will be on.

 

what i did was pull the radio and disconnect the right side(facing radio from front)connection and reconnect right away.i did not feel like waiting hours since i got the code from dealership and was making many stops that would not allow to keep car on for that long.

 

i believe you could have disconnected the battery and had the same results...

 

Try ebay for an owners manual.

 

or you could do that too.lol..both are easy pulling the radio is just cleaner...at least on my car it is.

 

I am surprised it reset. I have had radio's in off and had the battery disconnected for days and it did not reset the radio.

 

or just come talk to the helpful people on the forums
