gas mileage on these cars ?
NA and turbo?
I hate to make that a deciding factor but right now I must take everything into account.
even though I showed the warden a nice V70 T5 last night not far from me.
I just dont need a car that gets 15mpg all the time.
tell me they do better when not stomping the gas pedal

I looked at the fuelly thing.
I wasnt sure on some of them wether they were turbo or not.
I need to know the difference in mpg in a turbo or non. if its not much then turbo it will be. but if its a big deal I dont know.
do the 4 door sedans get better than the wagons ?

gentle: 4 door and wagon should be within 1 or so MPG of one another. On my turbo, I get about 22 in town, about 31 highway, and about 6 mpg if im beating on it. Keep in mind though, im a pretty long way from stock...
I usually use www.FuelEcomony.gov. Here is the V70 link (you may need to cut and paste): http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/compx...Field=Findacar
These cars turbo or not should get about the same mileage, between 22 / 29. If you are not getting that, you likely have an issue with a O2 sensor or need to make some driving habit changes.
I purchased a ScanGauge II and took my 960 from 21/24 to 25/29. There is a couple of other things I did do: 1. Michelin Fuel Rated Tires, 2. K & N Filter, 3. Full synthetic oil, 4. Lucas every 10k.
The best thing about a turbo is that you get more hp with little or no fuel consumption loss.

Non-turbo sedan here. I get 30mpg interstate/ 20 in town driving.
With that said, for the past 6 months I have lived basically in the hills area of town where I drive most of the time. Mileage has dropped to about 17 and still driving it gently.

I just took a trip today, filled the tank and put her on the freeway. I could only go 55 for an hour and got 32mpg. I was really trying hard to keep it there as it would move a bit on hills, etc. In general this was a very very flat drive. The distance gauge said 545 where it normally on a full tank says about 315. On the way back I had to teach a Civic that Volvos rule so that all changed.
Non turbo here 26,2 MPG average last 200K. It is mix of city and freeway and warm up and waiting for wife to get ready and what not.. LOL.. Any car can make 30, 40 50 and more downhill but if we talk average it is 26.2 on my NA
Combined city/highway 22.5 in one of mine and 23.6 in the other one. Get abouit 26-28 on the highway driving 70-75 mph. I have done better than 30 though if I try real hard to get good mileage. That's a boring way to drive though.
Forgot to mention AC in on most of the time ( Arizona)
I live in Oregon and I am not blessed with flat roads where you get better gas. I do have a turbo and would reccomend getting one with it, especially being able to pass cars.
I have been driving all over my state for work. I use the cruse control and typically I set my speed between 69 - 74 mph. I get 25-26 mpg on these road trips. I always get 21-23 in town. I classify myself as an agressive driver.

The gauge helps you become aware of your driving habbits and drop the bad ones. I also did the following: Use 93 octane, used full synthetic, installed a K&N box filter, and have good fuel rated Michelin tires.
I'm also getting 25.5 around town in my T-5R and 32 on the highway. but like JimK said, it's a boaring drive.
I loaned it to a friend that has a Lexus GS300 and he is getting 10% better mileage around town and 20% better on the highway in just 30 days of using the thing.

Get the T5, what people fail to realize is it does not matter how big and fast your car is, it's how you drive it.
Many buy econoboxes thinking "oh, I get great gas mileage, i'll drive it like I stole it everywhere I go just to keep up with traffic!" and little do they know they'll suck more gas than a guy with twice the motor IF he's driving sensibly.
