I am getting ready to start this job. First of all, if I get a hoist for the engine, how heavy is the trans to take out from underneath? Can I do it alone? Also, what other seals will I need to complete the job, and any other thing I may need? this way, I can have most, if not all of the parts on hand. Thanks in advance!!!

 

Also, what about the front crankshaft seals. Will they need to be replaced if I am doing the rear seals?

 

You will pretty much only need the rear main seal.
Some people install new flywheel screws and torque converter bolts at the same time.

The trans is pretty heavy.I would have a floor jack and maybe someone to help you.
