I like the Castrol brand for oil.

In my opinion Synthetic oil is well worh the money to buy and put in and it works good.

Other don't agree with me.

In my other car, I have had success with Castrol GTX. It is a in-line four with turbo. It has over 200K miles. No problems with original turbo. No problems with compression. I run straight 30W in the Summer and 10W30 when temperature high's stay below 60 degrees. I have always drained oil within 3,000 miles intervals.

My recent car was raised on synthetic by the previous owner, so I will stay with...

I am using Hastings Premium oil filters...

The only possible problem with switching to synthetic at 146K miles, is that oil may begin to leak around valve cover gaskets and other oil seals. This typically happens to engines where the previous owner neglected to do routine oil changes. Go ahead and switch over to synthetic. If you have no problems with oil leaks, continue with synthetic. If you have problems, just switch back to conventional.

Yeah that is what my father has been telling me about synthetic. I guess its worth a try and if it leaks i will just go back. I use Castrol GTX rite now. Should i use Castrol's Synthetic? or does anyone have any other ideas for synthetic brands to use?
