Waterpump replacement - Timing Belt options
So as most of you know I replaced my engine with the engine from a T-5R back in October of last year. When I did this I also replaced the timing belt. So here I am four months later and I noticed a small amount of antifreeze coming from the front of the engine. I am assuming its the water pump since I dont see anything from the overflow.
I am faced with a decision. Do I change the timing belt while I replace the water pump or leave the four month old belt alone?
(I will make the rub in comment now so you dont have to: "Always replace your water pump when you replace your timing belt". I know, I know.)

Unless you damage the belt while doing the pump, seems like a waste of $$ to me. If it's an OEM belt it should last at least 70K miles.
Plus it's less work to change out the pump w/o having to pull the belt off the crank cog.
Bottom line is it's your $$; your choice.

This is what I always here from my mechanic...if its not broken, dont fix it!
Its basically up to you, if you want to spend the extra money to change the brand new timing belt then go ahead...but it is basically brand new. Like gdog said, if its damaged, CHANGE IT (you'll be glad lol :P)...but if not, then I would put my money somewhere else...
Just my 0.02$
