Hey,

I took my car to a repair shop and when I got it back the key is stuck in the ignition. They were like "oh well" "the key is in it" The shop is a friend of mine's otherwise it would be a different issue. When I first bought the car a year ago I had the same issue but got it out. Now I forgot what I did.

So far I've
Banged the end of the key
Hit the shift lock button
Moved to neutral.
Moved through the gears and back to park.

So...Even though the button looked up, I took a pocket knife and pried it up a little more and voila out came the key!

 

next step is to spray some lubricant around the shift lock button and feel it to see if its just sticky or if the spring mechanism is broken.
