I had the some problem to the driver's door many times for 2 years, but I kept it unresolved, then last year I had a fault to the clutch and the Volvo assistance repaired it. Since that time to now the problem disappeared, I suspect that it was due to the door harnesses and related interferences, as they disassembled and reassembled many parts near the driver's door and so they unintentionally resolved also the door's problem.

 

This unlocking problem appeared two years ago and is on and off, only with the driver's door, and with the top down. Today, while driving to the dealer for another problem, on a beautiful sunny day, it happened four times over a one hour drive, and in one occasion, it was the passenger's door.
The dealer suggested to replace the two latches, at CA$239 each, plus one hour per lock for labour. I'll try the other solutions mentioned in the previous chats. It really seems to be related to the car lack of structural rigidity while the top is down. I noticed it could be related to speed, bumps, and other stresses on the car's body. Will keep you posted. Was glad to see that others have been able to resolve this problem.

 

Had a 2012 that got wrecked, badly. Car was totalled with really bad damage to the front, the driver door and trunk. Interior looked like you could drive it away. Thank goodness my wife came out unscathed. We found and purchased a used 2013 Inscription. I have the same problem here with both doors but is more common on the passenger side and only when the roof is down. The 2012 did it as well as the 2013.

 

I had that problem 2 year ago I sprayed lot of silicone lubricant directly into the latch and my problem is solved since 2 years

 

My 2012 C70 has been doing the same thing for about the last 6 months. Not every day and does not matter if top is up or down It is a dangerous thing however. I am wondering if there is a recall on this issue?

 

I had the same problem, I successfully tried with some rounds of paper tape around the little bar of the part of lock on the vehicle side (i.e. not the door side) and it seems working. The reason why is probably that tape compensates some mismatch and wear and tear of the parts of the lock.
