Hey so I know this is a thread that's been over done. I've goon through d*mn near every solution that's been posted and 2 weeks since the day my car had a dead battery, I still can't get the hood open.

It's become quite frustrating, originally the passengers side was unlatching, and I was stupid enough to try lift the passengers side and pull on the cable as hard as I could. I think this might've messed up the entire thing. Later on I had a friend push down and pull on the hood, and this time the drivers side unlatch and I haven't been able to open the passengers side ever since.

At this stage, my cable has already broken and I'm using a pliers to pull it from under the dash. The actual cable threads are wearing off each time I try.

Any suggestions? I feel like I'm a few tries away from ending my 16 year relationship with Volvos

 

We are experiencing similar issue. My XC60 pops on the passenger side but driver’s side is stuck. Tried bouncing hood up and down while someone is pulling on release lever and it won’t pop. Hoping someone offers up a solution otherwise its a trip the dealer and I am dreading what they will charge for that service.
