MY C70 UPGRADES

RE: MY FIRST C70 UPGRADE
here are the pics as promised, enjoy.
i took out the center of the volvo emblem and with some 2-sided tape on both sides of the grill, added it in there on an offset.
i love this grill. the quality is very high and the difference it makes to the front of this car is sick. time to get these wheels and lower it and build this bomb a$$ exhaust.

thanks Torkk. remember bro, it's only money, it comes and goes and you can't take it with you. i'mnot a baller, but i love cars and everything for this volvo is expensive, there is just no way around paying alot for stuff, so do it if you can, but don't throw yourself under a bus.

RE: MY FIRST C70 UPGRADE
yeah, i wasn't really feeling the badge, but i figured that i needed something in there.....maybe i can take the badge to a machine shop and have them cut-out the blue "volvo" part with a band saw and put that in it's place. it would be smaller and less invasive.
i would love to have some eyelids, but when i start modifing the hood in the future i will consider welding some to the hood. it will be something.

i was planning to just add some metal to the hood to cover the lights some like the plastic ones would. thats what i meant to say.

hey S70, can i see some up-to-date pics of your headlights with the HIDs and your interior. don't forget to show the 3 guage pod.

AHhhh that pure sex right there! very nice. Tech just showed me the other day that the thin, bottom part of the headlights with the 194 bulb in itactually ties into the corner lampwith thoes spare plugs i had in my pics. it looks awsome.....or even more awsome now with that part lit up. it's crazy, sometimes the lil things make a big difference.

RE: MY FIRST C70 UPGRADE
i dunno why they are such a pain for you. mine went in with no problems. i used some needle nose pliers and they went right in. if your still having problems use a lil PB blaster or WD40 on the rubber, apply it with your finger though, you don't want spray lube all in your lights

RE: MY FIRST C70 UPGRADE
i just made a modification in the name of thermodynamics.
thermodynamics =in principle, describe the specifics for the transport ofheat andwork in thermodynamic process. just incase you didn't know.
now i have been reading on these boards about the underhood temps andwhy you don't want to have an open cone type K&N filter due to heat soak. i'm gonna change all of that using my volvo as a project.
i wanna get a thermalcouple for my multimeter to back up my mods and my claims before i get into the major mods that will help bleed off the most heat under the hood.
i was talking to Tech about his theory on why the timing belt on our cars start failing at about the 70k-80k mark. he belives that the heat from the VVT actuator produces excess heat which comes from the oil in the engine, so this is what i did:
i drilled some air holes for the coil on plugs and the VVT actuator. if i was a machine, i would have drilled these holes better. the COP were drilled in 2"x2" squares. the VVT actuator was drilled in a 6"x1.5" rectangle. this should bleed off any heat that may be produced by these parts.
anything that produces heat, if you can make it run cooler will last longer and more efficent.
