You worked hard and did a great job, but the original wheels look 10x better.

Listen, I don't mean to be disrespectful...but people like Eater modify their car because it's one of their passions. Although he may do it to attract attention....he damn sure isn't doing it to impress people like you. Sure you may not agree with some of the things he does to his car, and even I wouldn't do some of those things to mine either, but that's no reason to say "if you want to learn how to screw up a car, read here"....Your first comment is acceptable, but I think you went too far with the second one and owe the forum-goers and PantyEater an appology.

So you are saying that just because an opinion about the car being more beautiful on page one, and uglier towards the end of the thread that he is wrong? You may think the car is nice, and entitled to voice your admiration. He thinks it is ugly, so what.

Default Dash Panels - remove or cover

I'm impressed. Did you remove the dash panels or did you just cover them without removing them?

Can one de-badge a C70 using dental floss? Are the letters just glued on like most cars?

I like this transformation done in time, not instantly, through the time you discover some new ideas and the fianl car looks often a lot different then you imagined when you started this transformation...

I think your mods are awesome. I believe, "its your thing, do what you want to do"!! Make your vehicle uniquely yours! Hope to post my 07 C70 shortly. I'm still trying to figure out why I cant get more pics into my gallery, but I'll figure it out sooner or later. Anyhow, great job on your car! Post more pics!!!!

Hard to read this thread, most of the pictures are missing due to people posting to sites that are gone, but it appears to be a thread about an S70 but I found it pinned to the forum for the C70. It hasn't been touched/updated in 5 years, why is it something that needs to be a stickie at all, let alone in a forum about a completely different car.

Yay! First post!

so i purchased some 18x7.5 rims from wheelmax last week

but, as you guys will learn about me, i just can't leave anything alone, or drive what everbody else is driving or have the sameexact style asanother person, so i changedthe look of these wheels a little bit.

first, i masked off the the important areas i didn't wanted painted like the polished lip and the simulation 3 piece rim bolts and tires. this kept alot of overspray from getting everywhere.

after ruffing up the surface with some 400 grit or a red scotch bright, you will then wipe the sanding dust off with laquer thinner and spray your base coat. i used krylon X-coat base coat.
Attachment 24126
next is to lay down your color of choice, i always wanted some rims that were Volk racing gold and this is the closest i could get to it which duplicolor makes. i put down 3 thin coats and one heavy coat for each rim letting each coat dry like 30 mins. then added 3 coats of 500* engine enamel clear.

with an x-acto knife carefully peel the tape off the very detail parts of your wheel (and if your smart get some simple wheels to do this to cause GOD made your fingers to fit perfectly in your nose, but hard to get into some areas of these rims

some of you may think i'm a "ricer" and your right, but i add tasteful style and performance to everything i own. you won't see a pep boys muffler on my car or a "park bench" spoiler, but i will make my C70 stand out and perform as much as i can. hope you like this project log, look for my suspension upgrade and my brake painting here in this thread (cause my brakes are really rusty)
Great improvement
from stock rims. Looks great on the car.
