Default Suspension Question

I have a 2000 C70 Coupe - HT 5spd. I recently replaced the strut bearings and spring pads and just had new tires put on and the car aligned. After the fact I was really disappointed that I didn't refresh the suspension as the handling is terrible. Well today I got a letter from FCP Groton that the Spring Pads I purchased from them and installed have been recalled and they are going to replace them and give me $100 for installation (which will almost cover another alignment). So, I have an opportunity to refresh the suspension. I have only owned this car for a few months and the car has 100K miles on it so I'm not sure if my suspension is THAT tired or if this car in original "new" condition was a poor handling car. I would like to avoid replacing the struts, shocks and springs with OEM only to discover that it is nearly as bad.

I'm pretty convinced that I should purchase the Bilstein HD struts/shocks but I have a question about the springs. Will OEM springs get me the handling I'm looking for? I'm having a hard time determining if people purchase the aftermarket springs more to lower the ride height or if it is because the OEM springs are that bad. I can live with the stock ride height but really want this sporty looking car to feel a little sporty. My previously daily driver was an Acura, so that is my benchmark.

So, based on what I'm looking for should I got OEM springs or consider something like the Eicbach or Vogtland springs? The Vogtland springs seem to lower the car a lot (1.2") any issues with these?

Pretty much all the aftermarket ones drop the car.
If it were me and I was doing all that work I would install lowering springs. I hear the Vogtland ones are pretty good.

Thanks Tech. BTW, you are a Eibach fan, right? What about the Bilsteins over the Konis?

Well the Mustang has the Eibach on it.
My 850 is a mix match kind of.
I have weitech struts and springs on the front and on the rear I cut the OEM springs and have new OEM shocks and I sit like this.

I hear the Bilsteins are a better ride than the KYB but I have not tried both to give a good opinion.
