Could someone please tell me where the radio amp is located in the 2001 s40? I was just gifted the car and there is no audio but the radio seems to be working according to the display and I think it might be the amplifier.

 

It should be part of the head unit - you may want to pull the unit out (make sure you have the code first!) and test directly with some speakers. worst case is you buy a replacement on eBay (again, make sure the seller provides the code) - they pop in/out with the two metal tabs on the outside then slide out - there's standard Volvo connector plus the antenna so other "double DIN" models can be used.
