I have a 2001 S40 w/ 112,000 miles on it and the heat will work and then it won't.. And it feels like the AC is on when it doesn't work . But it's (AC) not on .. PLease help it's COLD outside.. Thanks

Is your anti-freeze/coolant topped off? Or, it could be a bad thermostat.

Thanks for the reply... The coolant is topped off and I have a new thermostat.. What else can it be????

Do you have a wife or GF in the car that keeps messing with the climate control?

Is it auto climate control? The only reason I ask, I had a V70 that did the same thing. The thermometer is in a little grill on the front of the unit. The kids jammed something in there and broke the thermometer (of course they denied it). And the whole unit had to be replaced because it got confused and would cycle between heat and cold.
