Question 2001 Volvo S-60 vibration

Over the weekend my 2001 S-60 developed a very bad vibration. It's not the tires or balance as the vibration only happens when the engine is under a load. When not accellerating, the vibration stops. It's at it's worst between 45 - 60 mph.

I'm gussing it's a CV joint but would like to get another opinion.

Thanks in advance!

Check the inner CV joint they are known to get loose and cause a vibration.

Default CV Joint

You are right. The inner right side CV joint had blown out. I had taken the car into my local Volvo dealer twice because of a noise in the front end. Unfortunitly, they never did see that the boot had cracked and all the grease had come out of that inner joint.

I'm replacing all the boots and also the front struts at the same time. Do you have any idea as to where I can get an exploded diagram of the front suspension for a 2001 s-60 non-turbo? I want to make sure everything is back right and I'm also looking for torque specs for the front end.

Any recommendations as to online part dealers?

Again...thanks for your help.

If there is slop in the inner joint then I would replace the axle the damage is already done.

Not sure about the diagram my Vadis is not working right at the moment.

As for parts you can try www.IPDUSA.com and as far as diagrams & step by step proceedures you can try this website http://www.alldatadiy.com/index.html its not a free website, but for 1 year unlimited access is $27 for 1 vehicle & $45 for 5years of access. Good luck!
