PCV diaphragm replacement x 2
I have a 2016 T5 S60 with the 2.0 drive-E. My pcv diaphragm went kablooey and had to be replaced. the guy doing the work decided to just replace the diaphragm and not the entire assembly. The next thing that happened was a front crankcase seal popping. Was that going to happen anyway or is it likely because the pcv assembly wasn't replaced as a unit with the diaphragm. According to a volvo mechanic, that may be the reason so he is replacing the whole unit, if only to cover his six, in addition to the seal. The original work was done by a 'performance car' mechanic who doesn't know a whole lot about Volvos. Lesson learned I guess. And the fact that the valve even went bad at 86K miles has me a little perturbed . That seems a little soon. Any comments are welcome.
