power steering whirring noise
Sometimes if I have a little too much fun
and do a hard turn while giving it some power I get a whirring noise from what I assume is somewhere in the power steering system. The noise will continue to repeat as I do turns but slowly disappears as I drive. This only happens after I'm rough with it.
Is there an air bubble in the PS system or should I look elsewhere? the fluid level is normal atm.
ALSO: Does anyone else get a bit of fluid leakage around the power steering reservoir? Like around the top and bottom halfs of the tank? I can only imagine it gets forced out by pressure somehow?

Remove the cap for the reservoir and look inside by where the small hose attaches to the bottle. There is supposed to be a plastic tube that goes to the bottom of the bottle. Sometimes the plastic tube falls off and causes the problem you have.
The noise could be caused the belt slipping or low fluid level. My hose was also leaking at the bottom of the tank, which eventually caused a low fluid level andnoisy pump.1stI tried to tighten the hose with a multitude of different clamps to no avail. A new hose from the stealershipis $110, sofinally I just trimmed the hose 3/4" from the end and that solved the issue.
