brakes question
Before anyone wants to choke me, I did a search and I didnt see this asked. I recently put on new rear brakes. As per several posts on here I applied silicone grease, but my brakes are now squeeling very loud now whenever I first start to apply my brakes. I get some pretty strange loosk when I am am just coming to a rolling stop and press on the brakes. It sounds like an 18-wheeler stopping. My question is has anyone used the silicone spray for this? Do I need to just put a large amoutn of grease on? I had two small little packets when I changed the brakes out. The sound is just killing me. Appreciate the help.
Bet you did not use OEM pads. I've been driving Volvos since 1985 and I never have brake squeal. Well once I did, so I took the aftermarket pads off and put on OEM. Problem solved.
