Default New Volvo Owner/Steering Rack bad

Aight guys I purchased the 98 S70 w/ 109K on it. Everything seems fine but the steering rack is pouring out fluid so I had it towed home. I ordered the rack and it should be here on monday. Im starting tear down tomorrow morning so on monday I can put the new one in and ship my core back. From searching I found enough info that I should be able to get it done but as far as fluid I need ATF Dexron III correct? Is this still available? Is there a particular brand you guys prefer? Whats the procedure on bleeding the system? I'll post pix of it when I get home.

Ok well it came today! So I'll be doing everything tomorrow, woohoo! Also whats the oil capacity on the 2.4? I found a link that says everything I need to get the car up to "snuff" but my security admin at work has volvospeed blocked for some reason.

I'm working on the subframe but I cant get the big bolts out that hold the subframe to the car. I have an impact but its not working at all. These bolts arent moving. Any advice? I got the two small ones out on both sides in the rear but its three back there on each side and the big ones wont budge at all.

If they're not moving use a half inch drive ratchet and a breaker bar. Make sure you spray them with lube too.

Yeah after letting them soak I gave the impact another shoot and it broke em. Im almost done Im just having a heck of a time getting the steering shaft to over the shaft on the steering rack. It goes in to about the flat space and stops. It's so tight I cant really see if its binding or what. Im not stopping till its finished, just how I work....any advice on this though?

Got it all finished and tighten up. I did an oil change, glad I did that, the oil was horrible. Topped it off and bleed the system and took her for a drive. I must say this baby is nice. I cant even feel it shift and the engine purrs nice too. One question though are the injectors loud on these b/c I heard a ticking but I want to say it was coming from the injectors. And after driving it for a bit all the lights turned off. Maybe it just needed the dust knocked off it from sitting. Anyway last thing to do is the alignment and it needs a tune up b.c it does idle a little rough and the air filter was horrible so I know it needs it. Also Im tackling that timing belt ASAP! I stopped by a small volvo shop and he said do the timing belt NOW! He showed a 2.4 block sitting on the ground that had the belt let go....it wasnt pretty! So I think Im doing that even before the tune up. Overall I think Im going to like this car
