2000 S80 T6 has a rough, harsh ride
Ok.. let's clear this up. I just picked up the O-Rings from the dealer. The o-rings are not the same as the bushings. They are as big as a baseball about 3/8 inch thick. They are literally O-Rings. You have to get them from the dealer. They suggest replacing the screws as well. Part numbers as follow.
O-Ring: 8638585
Screws: 981062
Yes, there are many factors contribute to a rough ride, which include tires, shocks, bushings..etc.
For anyone interested: I also asked for a strut bearing to see how much rattle it has brand new. Obvious, they are pretty firm compare to mine which I was able to use my fingers to rattle it. Therefore, I will be replacing the strut bearing and the strut also.
Man, can't you believe it? Pretty much a complete front suspension overhaul for a car that's only 48K.. And I haven't gotten to the rear yet. Piece of sh*t.

48k and 7 yrs old, and that is no where near a suspension overhaul, Also you dont need struts, just the bushings.. And by rattleing? what are you talking about? either the rubber spring seat is busted or its not, itf its not theres no need to replace it.

And for those that are interested, to add the O-rings to the rear subframe, you must remove both sides in order to lower the rear subframe enough to install the o-rings. The LH side has a metal guide that you must lower as much as 1 1/2 inches to slip on the ring.

Yeah.. tell me about it. No need to tell me it SHOULDN'T. Yes, I do mean overhaul.. bad parts replaced!!! Unless if you meant to tell me that the strut without the spring, automatically goes down by itself isn't bad, then what? As for rattling, it's the strut bearing that I'm refering to (I actually held a new one and checked it out, mine was definitely bad). No I don't have extra money just throwing out for new parts. I think we are pretty much in agreement on how long these thingsSHOULD last. BUT not on this car!

You do not have to lower it 1 1/2 inches to slip it on, i've been working on volvos for 8yrs. i know my way around them. also the 99-00 S80 is by far the worst volvo made. i dont concider any 04+ to be a volvo. its a damn ford with a volvo engine. it may only have 48k on it, but rubber dry rots. ppl will tell you not driving one hurts it more than driving. so for 48k in 7yrs means the car isnt driven an extensive amount. You obviously know this. Strut mounts and Struts are not a front end overhaul. An Over Haul would be Link Rods, Struts, Strut mounts, Control Arm bushings, Ball Joints, and Sway bar Bushings.. need i say more for an overhaul? Because there is a little more.
Also, im not saying the Strut wasnt bad, I just dont see many of them, i see TONS of Spring Seats (strut Mounts) whatever you wish to call them, And i have replaced very few strut bearings.. Id be happy to help anyone with anything, need a part? let me know, i may have it in my toolbox..
