Cracked headlight lens
Hey all, I can use some help.
I woke up this morning to find the lens over the headlight cracked in several places. (could be a song)
Is this something I can repair or do I need to go to the dealer?
If I can repair, what is the part called, and what should I expect to pay for it?
Thanks in advance for your replies

RE: Cracked headlight lens
I find it really stupid as to why Volvo decided that making the lenses for both the fog lamps and the headlights out of glass instead of far more durable plastic. These are areas where road debris and rocks hit the front fascia constantly. Why not just make them out of plastic like every single other automotive manufcturer to make damage to them far less likely? The glass ones on mine also have pitting and that "sandblasted" look after 8 years of being on the road. And aside of replacing them, there isn't a damn thing I can do about it.
Sometimes I think the day the engineers at Volvo designed the s80, they were either stone drunk or thought that they could make a luxury car out of legos and elmers glue. Jeez.

They don't even put certain services that owners need to do in the manual. They can charge customers big time when their cars break down.

Hey Helga,
I am sorry you have been diappointed with your s80. This is my second t6 and I have had almost ZERO service issues. Maybe I have just been lucky. I have really enjoyed the car(s). In fact this is my 5th Volvo and the only one I didn't like was the 760. My 850 turbo was the most fun though.
The funny thing is that I sold it with 126k because I was afraid I would have to start sinking money into it. 2 years ago I ran into the guy who bought it. He put 70K trouble free miles on it and sold it to his friend for the same reason I sold it. He bought an s80 and had nothing but problems.
The 850 is still going strong now with over 250k. Go figure.
