Default Ghost in the A/C?

The other day, I came out of the doctor's ofice to find my a/c (or at least the fan) still running 1/2 hour after turning off the car and removing the key.
This isn't the first time the blower failed to stop after turning off the car, but it is the first time I didn't notice it.
The car is a 2002 T6.
Anybody ever hear of this one?

That's a first for me. I've honestly never seen that one before.

Completely normal, it is drying out the evaporator, depends on temp and what not, but runs fan for about 10 or 15 minuets after sitting for approx half hour. Does this on most all modern Volvos...don't feel bad, thought I was flipping out when first notices it on 2001 V70 T-5

You know what's funny is that right after I posted that I'd never seen that before, my wife calls me up and said that our Volvo was doing the same thing. I misread your original post though in that it is quite normal for it to run after the car is shut off.

I had an old Honda Accord where the fan would never turn off! It took me a while to figure out why my battery was always dead, hahah!

Thanks for the replies fellas, but I think there might be a misunderstanding.
It is NOT the engine cooling fan that is running, which I know is normal (this is my 5th Volvo). It is the interior BLOWER motor that is running, which has only happened once or twice.

Ok, so I did read you right the first time! I have never heard of that happening before. How long do they stay on?

Yes the climate Fan (Blower motor) Comes on to Dry the evaperator so that it won't develop Mildew.
It will usually stay on for 5 to 10 minutes then shut off.

It stayed on quite awhile (at least 30 minutes while I was in the doctors office), and the engine had a little bit of trouble turning over afterwards.
It hasn't happened since, and the winter is coming anyway.
But if tech says it's cool, then it's cool.
He's my Volvo Guru.

True that man. You may want to look into a new battery though if the car had a hard time turning over.

My 2001 V70 does the same thing. Even though the interior fan blower switch is turned off, it comes on about 1/2 an hour after the car is turned off. I thought it was a problem and if I put the key in it, it stops. Good to hear that it's normal.
