Hello Guys,
M driving a S80 2001 2.0T engine B5204T5 series...m sorry to be asking this silly question & hope u guys will teach me the correct method or procedure for STARTING AN ENGINE.

1) I put the key into the ignition slot & turn it to position II...all the red lights on the dashboard on the right hand side will do a check(example : airbag, check engine, service, ABS, parking....) while there will be also a chime sound that will ring for 5 times.....ting ting ting ting ting....then only i start the engine(Position III & release it)......after starting the engine it will do another check on the red lights like ABS, check engine....)... during that time the chime sound will ring 5 times...ting ting ting ting ting. Once this is done...i buckle up my seat belt & start driving.

2) I put the key into the ignition slot & turn to position II...I start the engine straight away(Position III & release it) while the systems checks the ABS, check engine..... at the same time also the chimes rings 5 times...ting ting ting ting ting. Once this is done...i buckle up my seat belt & start driving.

So guys, pls educate me...what's the proper procedure for STARTING AN ENGINE for S80 2001 2.0T...is it number 1 or number 2 of the above mentioned ?

Thanks a million Tech...for making it sound so simple coz when i called up the volvo dealer the other day...the manager cant really answer my question i.e should it be number 1 or number 2. The worst part is...in the end they don't even have a conclusion at all whether should it be number 1 or number 2 ?
