Annoying dome light issue

I know this is a minor thing, but my dome light on my S90, with the doors closed, is on in the full forward position and full rearward position. The middle position is obviously OFF. How do I begin to chase this down?

Forward position is always on, but rear position should only be on with the any door open. Note, our car has a timer so they do not shut off immediately when the doors close.

I'm a bonehead. I realized it was the timer AFTER I ordered a new door switch. Go ahead. Kick me. I have it coming.
