Default A/C compressor - replacing

My friend is convinced its bad. How hard is it to change if I want to do it in my driveway? I have very little experience with Volvo's and I dont have access to the car so see where its located. I assume it's removed from underneath? Is this an afternoon job?

Thanks
Adam

It is kind of a pain due to a useless bracket volvo puts in there. You need to remove the PS pump and alternator to get to the compressor bolts.

Hard. You will need a set of crowfoot wrenches to even get some of the bolts out, and good luck getting them back in.

i found that it was better to take it off from under the car then there are only 4 bolts take out the 2 bolts on the bottom of the alternator well as far as you can get them and the same on the bottom of the A/C compressor and drop it down take off the pipes and there you go should take about 20min

sorry this is how i did it on my s40 but hope it helps
