A Reply to Wheel and Tire sizes ?
I posted a question over a month ago with no response. I have been trying to find outwhat tire size will fit my 2000 V70SE. Since my last post I found some nice 16" rims with +40 offset. I want to go with 225 width tires...will these fit without rubbing? Could someone please help?

RE: A Reply to Wheel and Tire sizes ?
I'm new to the game, but I just put 225 45 r17's on our '01 V70. These replaced the 205 50 r17s that were bald. Same dia, but the new ones are a little wider. We might have a little rubbing, at full lock but I need to spend a little more time to make sure it wasn't a fluke.
The 17 wheels are stock Volvo, but not sure they came from a V70?

Take for example this rim I found in 16" for a 2000 v70.

Click on tire options and it will tell you what will fit.
" 205/50-16
205/55-16"

Thanks for your response. I think though there is a difference between the 2000 and 2001 models. When looking for wheels for the 2000 V70 it was not recommended to use a wheel with a higher offset than +40. I understand the 2001 models and up can use the higher offset wheels.

Yes....I know that. I've been to all the forums and all the tire places, Tire Rack, etc. They all will say what tire size you can upgrade to from stock, but when aftermarket wheels are used their imformation is limited to non-existant. I was hoping that other owners may have already had this experience and could answer the question. Perhapsone of the other respondents was right, no one has done this?Anyway, I'm about to find out myself....I bought some Kumho's 225/50/16 and am hoping for the best. Someone's got to be the guinea pig....looks like it'll be me.
