This is sickening!! I was able to determine through dealer records that the transmission in our 04' T6 was replaced at around 65K miles by the previous owner. I inquired about the new replacement and was informed that most likely it was the same transmission design as the failed one they replaced. Currently the car has 130K, so I guess I'm sure I know what to expect in the near future??
So I wanted to circle back on this thread I originally started last year (2013), to say that I placed a video recently to show how I dropped the transmission. It is rather long at 1-hour, but I show some details on the process which I hope will be of some help to others that might want to take on this task as well.
I have a XC90 T6, the same as on this post.
I disassembled my automatic gearbox and the angle drive (see photo)
I noticed on the angle drive, like a drain plug.
Can someone tell me if this item, must be drained ??
Nothing is writte about this on VOLVO VIDA.
If it drains what oil to use?
