Has anyone changed the gear **** on the XC90, 2007? If so, what recommendations can be made.

If it is like the S80 then twist the boot to release the boot from the ****.
Then Yank on the **** really hard.

 

+1 to that. It is very hard to remove these from the post.

However HEICO is about the only company that makes a new shift **** for Volvo's of any kind. And they do have them for your XC90 too.

They are pretty expsensive too. You will more then likely have to e-mail them for a price. Also there is a HEICO of North America that you can e-mail. I believe the address is on that site somewhere.

 

I also need to change the gear shifter out. I've ordered from Heico but is it really that easy to change it out even on an automatic?

 

Its not all that hard. Sometimes you need to pull really hard to get it off though.
