Hood Release Routing
A shop removed my hood release cable after being unable to get the hood open, in fact, they cut it....
I have replaced it on the mechanical side but am having issues finding where it goes through the firewall when looking under the dash.
Can anyone tell me where it goes through, or provide an image?

Thanks,
The search continues.
I can't see it from outside the vehicle. Inside, I'm guessing the grommet is under the rubberized insulation.
I may post some pictures in a few to get some general direction.
Thanks,
Sean

Sean,
I found a link that may help you out some. It's not an XC90 and on the third picture where they talk about removing the battery you will need to removed your air filter housing.
Everything else is generally the same as the XC90.

Thanks!,
I actually got it taken care of just minutes before your post.
On my XC90, the grommet location is directly to the right of the center of the brake booster. It is in a small cluster with two other cables or electrical lines but they are pretty obscured by the cowl drain.
Removing the cowl drain by taking the single 10mm plastic nut and then just pulling it out seemed to be the silver bullet here. As soon as it was out of the way, the grommet and hole where the cable runs was easy to see. with it in place, it was not visible at all.
Getting it routed on the interior was something else entirely. If anyone ever has to do that, do yourself a favor and have a small fish tape or stiff wire. Also remove enough zip strips and other things holding the rubberized insulation down so that it can be pulled away from the firewall easily.
I am once again able to easily open my hood for the first time in a year (without the use of (pliers).
Again, thanks a ton for your help VolvoTech65!
