First, remove the old glass gently. You might need to use a hairdryer to soften the glue if it's stuck. After that, make sure the area is clean before putting on the new glass.
Check the backing plate for damage or dirt that could cause problems. If it's all clear, line up the new glass and press it in place.
Finally, wait about 24 hours for the glue to fully set before you start adjusting the mirror.
