1985 245- what is this pic

Found this set of wires hanging by the OD solenoid on the M46 transmission. Anybody know off hand what they are for? They route through the shifter opening.

Those are the wires that tread through the shifter and plug into the button on top of the shifter to activate the O/D (fifth gear).
