Default 240 odometer repair help

I just replaced the 25 tooth odometer gear and my odometer is still not working. I got the part from ipd and when I replaced the gear it does not fit as tight as the original, it just falls right off the pin. Anyone have any experience with this repair that can help me. I followed the instructions from Dave Bartons Volvo page. Thanks

I'd contact IPD, its their part.

I did call. The girl on the phone sounded like she was 15..she said they never had any complaints with the gear and it had to be something else. So I posted the problem here.

Dave Barton's page says it all--can't improve on that.

huh, every time I've talked to ipd, i've ended up with someone who seemed to know whats going on. admittedly, mostly I've emailed them rather than call.
