How to remove a/c condenser from volvo 244

Default How to remove a/c condenser from volvo 244

Hi again.. my next project it to get the a/c working and i did the retro to r34a went to put a can of freon in and started to leak in the middle of the condenser so i would like to know how to replace it and where is a good source to get the part from

The condenser is basically a radiator. It comes out like a radiator: you may have to take out or loosen the real radiator first, and be careful with the lines--use a two wrench technique, holding one end with one while turning the other fitting with another wrench. Use pipe wrenches if you got them.

You get a new one from all the usual parts sources, Tasca, Groton, aftermarket (China), etc. Or try a JY; they don't usually go bad and most likely you'll get a genuine Volvo part.

great ill shop around.. would it be better if i took it in to be fixed being the system needs to be vacuumed down... your thoughts

You could get it fixed, it's a radiator, shops fix them the same way... Not a bad idea!

great idea never thought of that ....thanks ill check into that
