Transmission pan
All,
Gotta drop the transmission pan on the 90 240 DL to replace a broken kickdown cable. There is NO way I am going to try and take the dipstick tube out at the pan as I have heard about the horror of trying to remove the nut, especially when it looks corroded (as mine does). That said, I have gotten the lower starter bolt that holds the dipstick tube on removed, but for the life of me I cannot get the top one out. No matter how many extensions, swivel joints or shallow sockets I use I cannot get a good enough angle on it. I'm going to replace the transmission mount while I am in there so I am wondering if lowering the transmission a bit will give me a better angle on the bolt.
If that doesn't work, my last resort will be to cut the tube above the elbow.
Any tips or advice appreciated.
Thanks
