Hi.

Just picked up a 94 850 base model wagon. I can't get it to go into 2nd gear. all it does is grind when I try. All other gears work good, and the clutch seems to function properly.

I don't have much exp. with manual trannys, so any ideas, and thoughts will be helpful.

Sounds the a problem in the transmission.

 

I believe that is a bad synchro in the trans. Isnt there a way of shifting that would make him able to get into second without grinding? I think its called double clutching or something like that.

 

That might work but sounds like it is an issue in the tranny with second. If it was just the synchro then it would grind but still go into gear.
