Drove it to work and it ran fine on the open road, but when I came to a stop it would idle real rough and eventually stall. I had to keep my foot on the gas pedal and the brake to keep it running. Even when it was decelerating it felt like it was missing.

When I finally got to work (about a 30 mile drive) I parked it and it kept running for a while, but missing, then stalled out. Sure seems like some sensor, but not sure where.

Wow! Started it to come home and it stalled coming out of the parking lot. Started right back up, but the transmission up arrow flashed the whole way home and the acceleration sucked, but it did run and was not eating gas cause I watched the gas mileage and it went up on the way home and it would run fine at 65 mph. It just would not start out from light very good and wanted to stall, but I kept it running.

Got home and put the ODB-II reader on it and got codes P0305, P0730 and P1310 over and over. P0305 is misfire cylinder 5 and P0730 is Incorrect Gear Ration. Not sure what P1310 is, but has to do with misfire I think. Erased the codes and started it back up and the arrow quit flashing and it did not set any codes while I had it running a short time. The idling was not good at all though. Running very rough.

I ordered the Throttle Body gasket and EGR gasket today. I did not have them off, but will take them off and clean them when I get the gaskets tomorrow.

Think it might be something with the fuel injector on cyl 5? Like I said I did not put new seals on them.

HELP - My car was running fine and I try and do a little PM and this is what happens. What's the old saying "If it ain't broke don't fixit".

Spray around #5 injector with it running and see if the idle gets better. If it does the seal is torn and causing a leak.

Spray what? And #5 is the one farthest on the Driver's side correct?

Yes #5 is the furthest from the timing belt.
With Carb or brake cleaner spray the injector. If there is a leak it will suck the cleaner in and run off of it and run better.

Sure did. Every time I hit it with a spray of brake cleaner the engine would surge. I would be almost stalling out and then pick right up when I sprayed it. Kind of fun to do.

What's with the Incorrect Gear Ratio code though? That makes no sense whatsover.

Probably going to take the manifold off again cause I messed up the gasket a little bit when I put it back on the 2nd time. Thought I smoohed it out enough, but when I sprayed the injector it could have been going in around the gasket too. That's right where I mess up the gasket and I have an extra gasket. Probably make it easier to clean the EGR too while I have the intake off the car.

I AM BACK TOGETHER AND RUNNING FINE!!!

I took the intake manifold off, took the EFR valve off, cleaned the EGR and put a new gasket on it, put a new gasket on intake manifold (I really messed it up I have to admit), put new seals on the fuel injectors, took pictures of my fog lights, messed with the computer to post the pictures and put everything back together on the car. Started at 9:25 this morning and was pretty much done by lunch. Just a little over three hours.

Doing it the 3rd time, I knew exactly what size bolt everything was and basically didn't have to try and figure stuff out. Just did it bam bam bam. And I was actually more careful this time that the other two mainly because I knew what I was doing.

I can feel the comfort and pride you must have sensed when it ran smooth after all that hard work.....
